Timely warning
For updates that could potentially cause critical errors in your system, we will provide you with a warning. This allows sufficient time for appropriate precautionary measures.
Test first
To give you the opportunity to test the effects of the update on your specific extensions, we offer a sandbox environment in the new version where necessary. This also allows potential problems to be identified.
Clear coordination
If an adjustment to your extension is required, we coordinate the change request. We ensure that a suitable developer is available.
Postponement possible
Are major adjustments pending and you lack the time for extensive testing? Then we will postpone the automatically generated update dates, giving you more breathing room.
Regular updates
Microsoft Business Central offers both Major Updates and Minor Updates. Major Updates are released semi-annually in April and October and include extensive new features and improvements. Minor Updates appear more frequently and provide bug fixes, minor optimizations, and security updates. Major Updates bring new versions of the software, while Minor Updates represent continuous enhancements for stability and security. It is important to perform both Major Updates and Minor Updates regularly to benefit from the latest features and ensure a stable and secure platform.
Potential problems
In the event of a Microsoft update, data foundations crucial for your implemented extensions (software customizations) may be altered. Should an unrecognized change occur, this could lead to restricted functionality or – in the worst case – to a system failure.
Form of cooperation
As a Microsoft customer, you have previously been responsible for keeping track of updates and informing yourself about potential disruptions. Through NC365 Update Security, you hand over update management to us. We provide you with a consultant who will review your individual customizations monthly. They will inform you as soon as updates could lead to disruptions and, at your request, coordinate the adjustment by our development team.
Personal exchange
It would be to your advantage to designate a person from your team who regularly coordinates with our consultant regarding updates. This ensures continuous and personal communication about upcoming changes in Business Central.
Test environment for new versions
Especially Major Updates can result in significant changes with new functionalities. Since you know your system and the functions you use best, we will create a sandbox for you in the respective new version if required. You then have the opportunity to test and document any emerging problems with your extensions.
